Figures & Flora by Meredith Piper
The show “Figures and Flora” is a solo show comprised of Meredith Piper’s new works of 2016. Viewers can expect to see more figures and cacti that she has used in her previous work, as well as distant landscapes and a variety of new foliage. Piper shares that her favorite, yet most challenging part of this series was playing around with depth of field, whether it was figures being obscured by foliage in the foreground or desert scapes waning in the distant background. “Figures and Flora” is full of bright pastel hues and blooming with life, a show you’ll want to treat your eyes to.
Meredith is an Artist and Live Event Painter based out of Shreveport, Louisiana. Meredith’s work is comprised of oil paintings on wooden panels and large woven, wooden textile pieces. Her work can be noted by pastel hues and the over emphasizing of understated details.
An artist reception will be held for Meredith with lite hors-d’oeuvres and cocktails starting at 5pm.
Her works will be on display on the Gallery Wall of the Agora from January 19th- February 27th.
Her woven works will be on display starting March 1st through April 9th.
