6:30 -8:00 pm
Where: The Agora Borealis

Contour Drawing refers to drawing the edges or outline of forms slowly, one detail at a time, while looking at the subject and not the drawing surface. To facilitate self-exporation participants will sketch self-portraits by looking at themselves in a mirror and creating a contour drawing which will be embellished and filled using colored pencils.
The act of intense observing as the contours are slowly drawn opens the artist to a calming and meditative experience.
Looking at the work as self-discovery opens the artist up to healing.
During the 8-week session participants will create three self-portraits using contour drawing techniques and Elizabeth Layton’s approach as described by Robert Ault, MFA, ATR-BC, HLM. *Participants must commit to all 8 weeks.
