2nd Annual Ark-La-Tex MUSIC Heritage Festival

The Ark-La-Tex is rich in entertainment history and is the birthplace of many outstanding performers from classical music, country/blues, pop and rock. World famous entertainers were born here, Huddie Ledbetter, Van Cliburn, Kix Brooks, James Burton and Kenny Wayne Shepard to name a few. Many, many more got their start here on local radio and on the legendary Louisiana Hayride.

Our goal is to promote, perpetuate, encourage, & preserve our musical heritage through an annual music festival. The event will showcase local & regional talent and recognize our local music greats through an annual awards ceremony.

The Music Heritage Festival is a 501 C3 Non-profit Organization. The funds generated by this event will provide musical instruments to under privileged children, assist local music programs and offer music scholarships to deserving talent. The longtime goal is to fund an Ark-LA-Tex Music Heritage Museum to showcase the enormous musical talent that is part of this area’s history.

The Shreveport-Bossier City area deserves its own major music festival so that we may reflect on our rich history and showcase our current local and regional talent. We will show you why this area is labeled “The Bosom of the Blues and the Cradle of Rock-Roll”!
