Sci-Port Dragon Boat Festival Registration

Are you ready for an event full of spirited racing on and off of the water? I am excited to announce that the first annual Sci-Port Dragon Boat Festival™ will be September 9, 2017 at Port au Prince on Cross Lake! All proceeds will benefit Sci-Port Discovery Center, providing hands-on tools for using scientific discovery in everyday life, serving to spark curiosity about the world around us, and encouraging a passion for lifelong learning for people of all ages.

What is Dragon Boat? A fun, team-building event featuring teams of 20 paddlers and a drummer competing for Dragon Boat King. In the past 10 years, dragon boating has grown from relative obscurity to 80,000 participants who take part in over 100 festivals in cities across the country. Dragon boating is visually spectacular, easy to learn, and most importantly, extremely safe!

In addition to the overall winner, prizes will be awarded for best team spirit and most creative tent.Below are the guidelines and deadlines for teams and sponsors.

Teams
● Registration for a boat team is $2,100 which includes a dragon boat, 20 paddles,
one drum, t-shirts and a tent location
● Teams consist of 21 people (20 paddlers and 1 drummer, a minimum of eight
paddlers must be female)
● Register by July 21 to reserve your preferred tent location and receive
a $100 discount

Practice is from September 4-8, time details to come.
Heats begin at 9 a.m. on race day.

Sponsorships
● $10,000 Title Sponsors: two boat teams, t-shirts, stage banner, premiere tent
location, recognition on t-shirt and marketing materials and VIP rooftop party at
Sci-Port for 50 guests ($750 value!)
● $5,000 Event Sponsors: boat team, t-shirts, banner and recognition on t-shirt

Sponsor recognition deadline on t-shirts/banners is Aug. 21.

*Sci-Port will have a limited number of tents available including setup (10’x10’) for an additional $100 per team/sponsor or team/sponsor may provide their own.
