On this National Dog Day, Louisiana Specialty Gifts and the other businesses in downtown’s Red River District are banding together to raise money for the Humane Society of NW Louisiana. Bring your leashed friendly pooch to the Red River District between 10 am and 2 pm to take part in one, two, or all three contests.
There will be vendors set up with food and drinks, pet education, awareness, and adoption information as well as vendors with pet themed items for sale. Other kid friendly activities include a bounce house, face painter and balloon artist.
Pet contests start at 11 am, registration begins at 10 am.
HOW TO ENTER ANY OF THE 3 CONTESTS (Best Pet Costume, Pet Talent and Pet Look-a-Like)
To enter each contest, you must bring 2 of the following items listed below.
~1 gallon of bleach
~1 container of laundry detergent
~1 bag of Pedigree puppy food
~4 cans of dog food (any brand)
~1 pack of puppy pads
~3 pack of paper towels
~2 pack of Clorox wipes
~1 pack of soft dog treats
~1 dog collar
~1 dog toy
All items will be donated to The Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana. You can enter as many contests as you like, just remember that each contest requires a 2 item donation.
