Downtown is the place to be for the holidays!
The HOLIDAZE shops at artspace, 708 Texas Street, will be open through Dec. 22. The space is decked top to bottom with great one-of a-kind artisan-made items. Every Thursday throughout the holidays artspace will be open late for extended shopping with live entertainment to put you in a holly/jolly mood for the season.

On the final Saturday before Christmas, December 22, artspace is making HOLIDAZE even brighter for its last shopping day before Christmas with music by popular local group Twang Darkly and a couple of extra hours to shop the local Artists and their unique creations. Extended hours will be until 7:00 p.m. Happy HOLIDAZE!
Enjoy stunning choreographed laser beams and colorful light effects performed to traditional holiday favorites December 19-23 at 6:15 and 7:15 p.m. at the Shreveport Aquarium. Decorate cookies and enjoy holiday crafts. Walk through the shop at the outdoor Christmas Market before or after the show. After the 7:15 show, a special guest will make an appearance to tell the story of ‘Twas the Night before Christmas, followed by photos ops (bring your own camera).Tickets are limited for each show to make the experience more enjoyable for all. The Multicultural Center of the South, 520 Spring Street, returns with Christmas Around the World, an opportunity to see how other cultures celebrate this most festive time of year. The fun happens on Thursday, Dec. 20 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Ten different decorated trees and 15 cultural exhibits to allow you to travel the world and learn about how each culture celebrates the holidays. Treats, an African Santa Claus collection, family and friends are welcome to attend. There is no fee, but please consider bringing a toy to donate to Operation Santa Claus!

It’s a Christmas Extravaganza at the Strand Theatre starring Vicky’s Dancers on December 22. There are two performances, at noon and 5, to help you catch that last little bit of Christmas Spirit.
What’s Christmas without cookies, specifically, fun, decorated ones? Bon Temps Coffee House is offering some kid-friendly fun on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 11 am- 3 pm for just $2.
If you’re tired of the cold and think a little trip to the Caribbean would be just the thing for you this holiday season, Fatty Arbuckle’s in the Red River District has you covered with their Caribbean Christmas celebration on Sunday, Dec. 23 from 7 pm- midnight. Singer/chef Gordon Nurse will be playing Reggae music and making Caribbean Jerk, Andy the bartender will be stirring up some island-style Tiki drinks and there will be a limbo contest for all takers!
