Downtown is the place to be for the holidays!

Holidaze Shopping at Artspace, 708 Texas Street, will be open through Dec. 21. The space is decked top to bottom with great one-of a-kind Northwest Louisiana artisan-made items. Open late on the 15th and 21st for extended shopping. Make and take gingerbread house on December 10th for $25.


Come for a fun ‘Last Shopping’ event on Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 5-8 pm. There will be artists and other vendors at 620 Texas Street, live Christmas music and food and drink specials. Make it an old fashioned downtown Christmas as you enjoy the lights, the window displays and the shopping opportunities at Artspace, 708 Texas St. & Refine Design, 616 Texas St.


Sno-Port at Sci-Port Discovery Center, 820 Clyde Fant Parkway. Runs through January 29, 2023. Sno-port returns for it’s third year, even bigger and better! Visitors engage in snow-themed, science-based activities housed in an interactive science “playground” and has become a favorite holiday experience. New this year are Sock Skating, Freeze Frame, Snowball Pong, Igloo Experience and more!


Believe Lights the Night at the Shreveport Aquarium, 601 Clyde Fant Parkway.Open December 16-18 & 21-23, 5:15 – 9:00pm. Celebrating its third year of Christmas magic, BELIEVE! is the ultimate interactive magical Christmas journey in the biggest, brightest, most beautifully decorated place in town.


Visit The Bakowski Bridge of Lights, over the Red River on Texas St. to see the bridge lit up in it’s glorious Christmas colors. See the show each night from dusk until midnight. The week of the Independence Bowl, the bridge will go to beautiful red, white, and blue!


There are multiple chances to catch the Christmas ballet The Nutcracker downtown this year. December 7th at Shreveport Municipal Auditorium & December 10 & 11 at Riverview Theater, 600 Clyde Fant Parkway presented by Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet. Don’t forget the vendor-filled Nutcracker Market on Riverview Hall on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11.

The Sportspectrum Downtown Christmas Run happens on Thursday, Dec. 15. The run will start in front of Rhino Coffee, 624 Texas St., at 7 pm, but the streets will beginning shutting down at 6 pm. The route rolls from 600/700 Texas Street down Texas to Edwards, where it will turn right to Milam Street, then head back to Common Street to Fannin Street then up Louisiana Avenue back to Rhino. The race will run three laps, and all affected streets will be closed from 6-9 pm, so be aware!


Bring your family to spend the day at “Miracle at the Station” at 400 Crockett Street at The Lot Downtown, Saturday, Dec 17 noon to 10pm . Enjoy some holiday magic and Christmas cheer with Christmas movies on the big screens, Live Christmas Caroling between movies, The Kidzone with bounce houses and games, custom ornaments for the kids, food trucks, photo ops, DID SOMEBODY SAY SANTA CLAUS? Take a step back in time and tour the Ogilvie-Wiener Mansion, the largest Queen Anne Victorian home in Northwest Louisiana, all dressed up in her Christmas splendor! A collection of 12 beautiful Victorian-style Christmas trees will be on display. Donation are applied to the restoration of the mansion. The Christian-Hamel House at 740 Austen Place is included, along with refreshments. December 16, 5-8; December 17, 3-6 & December 18 4-7.


It’s Christmas fun for the whole family at Sci-Port Discovery Center! 820 Clyde Fant Parkway. Meet and take your photo with Santa, decorate Christmas cookies, and make a cup of hot cocoa. Join Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 875 Cotton St., on December 24th as they celebrate the birth of Jesus and the start of the Christmas Season together. Christmas carols begin at 10:30 pm, and the midnight service is at 11:00 pm.
Celebrate the 117th Christmas in their beautiful church.
The first service is at 5:00 pm, carols at 10:30 pm, and the midnight service at 11:00 pm.
