Artists from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council’s entrepreneurial program ARTIST UP! are using their painting, mixed media, music, and photography to capture the “faces” of the “uncommon, creative, cultural community” of Shreveport Common.
They have spent time getting to know the owners and residents from Shreveport Common businesses and social service agencies and have turned their stories into art to celebrate the authentically vibrant neighborhood.
On Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Central ArtStation, the ARTIST UP! artists will exhibit works they have created to celebrate the history, hope, and people of Shreveport Common in the exhibition, “The Faces of Shreveport Common.”
