Mark your calendars for the Ark-La-Tex Ambassadors’ 6th Annual Grillin’ for Grads BBQ Cook-off at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana on April 27-28th, 2018! Plans are well underway for a weekend of food, music and fun for all ages. Proceeds from the BBQ Cook-off will go towards the Ark-La-Tex Ambassadors’ college scholarship essay contest for Ark-LA-Tex high school seniors.

Admission is $10.00 (free for kids under 12) and gets you unlimited tastings!  There will also be a kids bbq cook-off, rib-eating contest, live music and MORE!

8:15 – 8:30 AM – Judges Sign In
8:30 AM – Judges’ Meeting – The Depot at Festival Plaza

Turn-ins for Judging (Entries must be submitted before these deadlines:

• 9:00  AM – Chicken
• 9:45 AM – Pork Ribs
• 10:30 AM – Pork
• 11:15 AM – Brisket

12:00 – 5:00 – GATES OPEN to the Public- Live Entertainment, Vendors, Children’s Play Area and Mechanical Bull Rides OPEN

– BOOTH 1 – Sponsors, Pre-Paid Ticket Holders, $10 Admission
– BOOTH 2 – $10 Admission

12:00 – 3:00 – People’s Choice Contest – Unlimited Samples!

12:00 – 1:30 – BAYOU GYPSY BAND on the MAIN STAGE

1:45 – Rib Eating Contest

2:00-2:30 – Kids’ Cook Off Check In @ Red Hut

2:15 – 4:00 – OLD WHISKEY REVIVAL on the MAIN STAGE

2:30 – Kid Cooks Meeting @ Red Hut

3:00 – Pick-Up People’s Choice Token Boxes

4:00 – Kids’ Only Cook-Off Turn-ins & Judging

4:00 – Final People’s Choice Judging

5:00 – Awards Ceremony

5:30 PM – BBQ Site Closes
