Mark your calendars for the Ark-La-Tex Ambassadors’ 4th annual BBQ Cook-off at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana on April 9th, 2016. Plans are well underway for a weekend of food, music, and fun for all ages. Proceeds from the BBQ Cook-off will go towards the Ark-La-Tex Ambassadors’ college scholarship essay contest for Ark-LA-Tex high school seniors.
2016 Schedule of Events
Friday, April 8th
8 AM – 5 PM: Team arrival and meat inspection
5:30 PM: Cooks’ Meeting
6 PM: Kickoff Fish Fry/Sponsor Party (Two tickets per team included with entry fee. Additional tickets available for $12.00 each)
7 – 10 PM: Musical Guest – TBD (Eldorado Stage, Festival Plaza)
Saturday, April 9th
8:30 – 9 AM: Judges Sign In
9 AM: Judges’ Meeting

Turn ins for Judging
Entries must be submitted before these deadlines:
10:00 AM – Chicken
10:45 AM – Pork Ribs
11:30 AM – Pork
12:15 AM – Brisket
11 AM – 5 PM: Gates open to public. Music, Food vendors, Children’s Area, Vendor Exhibits and Demonstrations, and Mechanical Bull Rides
12:30 – 3 PM: People’s Choice Contest (We encourage all teams to participate in the People’s Choice)
11:30 – 4 PM: Musical Guest – TBD (Eldorado Stage, Festival Plaza)
3:30 PM: Awards Ceremony
6 PM: BBQ Site Closes
Sunday, April 10th
8 AM: Site Tear Down
All sites must be free of litter by 12 PM.
