The 32nd Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, on March 11-13, 2016.

The Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference has been held annually and returns for the first time to its birthplace. The conference was conceived in Shreveport in 1982 to bring together engineers and scientists in the South with interest in biomedical applications and showcase transformative research in the emerging field of biomedical engineering. It has grown into an international conference with participants from every part of the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia. The conference brings together researchers, clinicians, students, and industry leaders to discuss current ideas and state-of-the-art developments in biomedical translational research and advances and innovations in the related sciences, technology and education. Neuromodulation, mobile medicine, big data science, bionanotechnology and bioimaging applications, bioethics and education are of special interest in this 32nd Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference (SBEC2016). The program agenda includes keynote lectures and student competitions, and provides a venue for presentation and discussion by senior scientists and young scientists (post-doctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students) from around the world.

SBEC2016 is being hosted and organized by Louisiana Tech University’s Biomedical Engineering program, the Louisiana Tech University’s Center for Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Science, and the Louisiana State University’s Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
