Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold shows us a Los Angeles where ethnic cooking is a portal to the soul of the city. Shreveport has its own thriving food scene, from the southern comfort of Tootie Morrison’s Abby Singer’s Bistro, to the Mexican flavors of Gabriel Balderas’ El Cabo Verde. Balderas will join Morrison as our guest chef, giving us a meal that melds the two styles. Local food blogger Chris Jay of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau will lead a post-dinner conversation with the chefs and give us a virtual tour of where to find the best tacos in town! Documentary, 96 min., R.
