Rick is the lead singer for Southern Voice. Rick was hired as the track announcer at Jefferson Downs Race Track in Kenner, La. in 1974, when he was only 17 years-old, the youngest race caller in the country. Since then, Rick has announced at a number of race track around the country, including the New Orleans Fair Grounds. It wasn’t until about five years ago that Rick started singing, with a knack for putting his own touch on both the New Orleans and nationally-known oldies, and his renditions of songs by Eddie Powers, Ernie-K- Doe, Elvis Presley, Johnny Rivers and Bobby Darin have become crowd favorites. Audience participation is a big part of an event with Rick Mocklin and Southern Voice. Catch them live in Celebrity!
