2016 CADA Annual Dinner

About the speaker:

Brian Cuban is the younger brother of Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban. The relationship with fame and fortune, however, has not always been beneficial to Brian. Over the years, Brian has struggled with addiction to alcohol and cocaine, body image, depression, suicide and steroid abuse.

Brian is the author of two books: Shattered Image was released in 2013 and delves into Brian’s struggle with eating disorders and body dysmorphic disorder; and The Addicted Lawyer, to be released later this year. In his new book, Brian discusses his “climb to the apex of the addiction roller coaster.”

He has been in recovery since April 8, 2007 and tells his story worldwide. His addiction was partly a result of two decades of battling an eating disorder.

Brian hopes that by sharing his struggles with others that he can help them get through it, no matter what it is.

About CADA:

The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA) is the leading resource on alcoholism and drug abuse and provides affordable, effective treatment to those with addiction. We are only 1 of 5 programs in the state that accepts pregnant women. As a non-profit organization, it is part of our mission to educate, counsel, and treat those of all ages who suffer from alcoholism and other addictive diseases regardless of their ability to pay.
