December on the Red: Christmas Carnival
The first three Saturdays in December, head to downtown Shreveport’s newly renovated Riverview Park for free, family-friendly holiday fun during December on the Red. On Saturday, Dec. 3 enjoy a “Christmas Carnival” featuring rides, a holiday marketplace of local vendors, carnival characters (jugglers, stilt walkers, glow in the dark entertainers, face painters), a gift-wrapping station, live music performed by community choirs and more. The live entertainment will take place, 4-6 p.m. A free screening of the classic holiday film A Christmas Story will begin at 6 p.m. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the show! Admission is free and ample free parking will be available nearby. On-site security will be provided. Riverview Park is located at 601 Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown Shreveport.
Head downtown earlier in the day on Saturday, Dec. 3 to enjoy “Santa’s Workshop in the Red River District” in downtown Shreveport, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
