Every Child Ready to Read Parent Workshop

Public Workshop Event by Shreve Memorial Library

Come learn how to get your child ready to read during our upcoming workshop at the library! This event will help you learn how to engage your child with simple daily activities to ensure they are developing early literacy skills.

Shreve Memorial Library is partnering with Rotary Club of Southwest Shreveport for this series of programs to encourage early literacy in our communities.

Parents of children from birth to 5 years of age are invited to attend this meeting at our Main Branch and see a demonstration of ways to help get your child ready to read. At each event, a book will be given to each family thanks to the Rotary Club of Southwest Shreveport.

Learning to read begins before children start school. From the time they are infants, children learn language and other important pre-reading skills. Developing these early literacy skills makes it easier for children to read once they begin school.
