Introduction by Jeanne Hamming, associate professor of English at Centenary College exploring what dystopian literature has gotten right (and wrong) about our future.

In 1949, George Orwell imagined a bleak future in his novel 1984. April 4 is the date in the novel in which the protagonist, Winston Smith, begins recording his thoughts in a forbidden diary, so what better day to screen the film adaptation and talk about dystopian science fiction?
