Join The Agora Borealis as we honor the wonderful John Wagoner and his newest exhibition FRAMED! Thursday, June 15th from 5-8pm! Come enjoy complimentary noches and libations as we discuss the many facets of art and painting!

Wagoner creates three-dimensional paintings or sometimes referred to as “paint sculptures.” He provides a commentary on the idea of painting not yet being dead in a digital art world and that this medium still has some tricks up its sleeve. Overall when asked about his artwork and what it means, he often asks, “What defines a painting?” Take a closer look and you’ll see that the object is entirely made out of acrylic paint.

This collection is based off of the idea of the frame as a work of art. A frame enclosed around a work of art can enhance it or even distract us from viewing the artwork as a whole. With this view of aesthetic, the frame is a part of the artwork but in this collection, the frame is the work of art.
