AIA Shreveport Spring Mixer
Join us Friday April 27th at the Red River Brewing Co. for the inaugural AIA Shreveport Spring Mixer! We’ll be introducing ourselves with cheap beers, interesting discussions of Shreveport’s Modern architecture, and Jumbo Jenga! This event is free to the public.
4pm – Happy Hour:
Come meet and mix with local designers and view our 2017 Design Award winning projects. We’ll be offering $3 Red River beers while they last!
5pm – Arch Talk:
“Triumphs & Tragedies in the Architectural Legacy of Shreveport: A Case Study Featuring the Work of Samuel and William Wiener” will be the presentation on Shreveport’s iconic modern buildings, both standing and razed, by Guy Carwile, architecture professor at LA Tech, and Christopher Coe, FAIA, who will give a sneak peak of his renovations to the Wiener-designed Preston House (pictured above).
6pm – Jumbo Jenga:
Test your tower building skills in our Jumbo Jenga Tournament! Or sit back and watch while enjoying food from Fat Calf Boucherie, who will be donating a portion of their food sales to our Student Scholarship!
