Best in Sheaux: Art of the Dog

Hosted by Robinson’s Rescue Low Cost Spay/Neuter

Robinson’s Rescue’s annual fundraiser, Best in Sheaux, is celebrating its TENTH anniversary this year. Come help us celebrate this momentous occasion.

Canine companions come in all shapes and sizes. This spring, dogs will be celebrated with some dog-gone good sheauxs at the Marlene Yu Museum along with Robinson’s Rescue.

For the Best in Sheaux, any dog can be a show dog and you are the judge of the competition.  This year 20 local dogs, all different breeds and backgrounds, will walk the runway and compete for the title. The winner will be determined by community votes.  Each vote is $5 and 100% of the proceeds go to Robinson’s Rescue.

This year, Robinson’s Rescue will be raffling off 3 amazing packages, which include gift cards to area restaurants, vouchers for personal pampering, and tickets to exciting local events! In addition, Best in Sheaux will include a silent auction with prizes like a Wheelbarrow of Wine and a stunning pair of Konstantino earrings generously donated by Lee Michaels Jewelry. In keeping with our Art of the Dog theme, we also have a professionally framed print from the master of Louisiana Dog Art himself, George Rodrigue!

Guests at the 10th annual Best in Sheaux fundraiser can try complimentary Great Raft beer, wine, and signature Pink Poodle Martinis made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka. In addition to a cash bar, enjoy a catered dinner by Fairfield Bed and Breakfast and much more.

In honor of the theme, the Rainforest Art Foundation and Marlene Yu Museum will present a juried art show. The unveiling occurs on the night of Best in Sheaux. It will continue to hang in the museum until May 1 and features local artists, who responded to the simple mandate of “Art of the Dog.” You’ll see beautiful paintings, cute photos, and much more during this exhibition. If you can’t make it to the Best in Sheaux, you can stop by the museum. Click here for their hours of operation. Admission is $10 for adults, kids under 3 are free. Students and seniors are $5.
