Black History Month Series: Straight Outta Compton

Join us each week in February as we celebrate Black entertainers in film and explore contemporary issues in the Black community.

When five young men translated their experiences growing up on the streets of Compton in the 1980s into brutally honest music that rebelled against abusive authority, they gave an explosive voice to a silenced generation. Following the meteoric rise and fall of N.W.A., STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON tells the astonishing story of how these young men revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited a cultural war.

RFC’s Black History Month series is presented by Caddo Parish Commission in partnership with the Shreveport Naacp. Each film in the series will feature an introduction from a community member and a post-screening Q&A. All tickets are $5.
