It’s three times the fun with hearts, history and Mardi Gras at our First Wednesday Downtown Artwalk. The art event happens on Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 5-8 p.m. Start at artspace, 708 Texas, and ‘art’ walk from there.

ARTSPACE– 708 Texas. Two Exhibits: On the Margins by Ben Moss & Jeormie Journell and Seizing the Light by Tamara Robertson. Music by Twang Darkly, and Theatre School of Dance performances throughout the evening. See and buy art from Kegan Kidd, Lisandra DiLiberto Brown, and Paige Powell. Pick up fun Mardi Gras items at Louisiana Specialty Products (set up at artspace) and try ice cream and special Valentine’s treats by Sweetport.
SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY MUSEUM OF ART-SHREVEPORT-610 Texas Street- has the Opening Reception for their Black History Month Exhibit. See Photographer Bennie Dotie’s ‘Reflections’ – 40 years of works highlighting historic, cultural, and community events and individuals throughout Shreveport-Bossier.
At the MARLENE YU MUSEUM/RAINFOREST ART FOUNDATION- 710 Travis St. Enjoy the reception for Radiant Birds, the most colorful flock ever.
Magee Resource Group- 2nd Floor, 620 Texas Street. Take a tour of this beautiful historic rehab and see the work of artist Jason Phipps.

Artwalk is free and open to all ages! Lots of parking available- all on-street parking is free starting at 5 pm, the two large lots right across from First United Methodist Church on Common and Texas are also free after 5 p.m.
