Fluid Art Challenge
No prizes, no grant money, no competition, no forms to fill out (there actually is a form to fill out if you want to list your work for sale).
It’s a been a good minute since that last challenge!
This challenge is to loosen you up, let you try a new medium and see how creative you can be when given something not quite* in your control. This challenge is for embellished pours, flipcups, tree-ring pours, puddle pours, epoxy works etc. *YOU MUST EMBELLISH THE WORK AFTER THE POUR.
*The caviat to this is that it needs to be your best work. This challenge will not only give artists who may work with this technique a chance to show off their skills, it will also be an introduction of sorts for some viewers who may not be aware this medium even exists! Your work could be the first encounter someone has with your type of art, so make your example a fine one!
There are a couple of rules:
- Your project must contain an element of poured media.
- It must be embellished after that with handpainting, decoupage etc.
- It can be no larger than 12″x16″
The deadline and drop off date will be September 15th from 10 to 6 PM at the Agora Borealis at 421 Lake Street, in downtown Shreveport.
Your first job is to invite your friends to participate, and get going on ideas for your projects. I’m excited to see what you guys come up with! Please remember to post progress pictures so we can all learn more about your process. This part will be especially interesting since the medium might be unknown to the rest of us. Ok. Get started!
