The focus will be on art criticism – whether in the form of a written review or a verbal critique – as a constructive and thoughtful interpretation and evaluation of the relevant work. I plan on discussing the notion of constructive art criticism in all its elements and dimensions. The workshop will involve attendees in a dialogue that elicits their established conceptions of reviewing and critiquing, and in turn seeing how we can refine and expand our ideas of them through discussion.
