JA Inspire: Student & Mentor Lunch

JA Inspire- A Work-Readiness Initiative, Student & Mentor Lunch -High School
Junior Achievement, members of the Rotary Club of Shreveport, and area business leaders seek to have a meaningful impact on the young people of our community by participating in the JA Inspire: A Work-Readiness Initiative, Student & Mentor Lunch. JA Job Shadow Students will be challenged to connect their classroom learning to their prospects of success, thus increasing their understanding of the importance of staying in school. Educators will teach the JA Job Shadow curriculum before students participate in the activities of JA Inspire. They will take part in business manners, ethics and critical thinking exercises, consumer savvy discussions, identify their interests and skills and their educational needs. Mentors will help students identify 21st century skills needed to succeed in the workforce, host mock interviews, and examine leadership potential within oneself.

This year 12 high schools from Caddo and Bossier Parish will be participating. Each school brings up to 30 students for a site visit and then to the student & mentor lunch. Site visits include:
