The Shreveport Regional Arts Council is delighted to welcome Louisiana Poet Laureate John Warner Smith to Shreveport for a Reading and Talk on Thursday, February 19 at the Central ARTSTATION, 5:30 (meet/greet) and 6:00 pm Presentation.

Smith is a native of Morgan City, Louisiana. He grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana and received his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of New Orleans. … He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Education’s Next Horizon, a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to Pre K-12 education reform in Louisiana.
