Rainbow City in The Common Park

Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) Presents RAINBOW CITY (Shreveport), in The COMMON PARK and The FriendsWithYou Retrospective Exhibition at artspace shreveport.

FRIENDSWITHYOU is the Los Angeles fine art collaborative of Samuel L. Borkson and Arturo Sandoval, III, working collectively since 2002 to have a positive impact on our world. Known for their immersive installations and inflatable sculptures, their work reaches beyond the contemporary art world into popular culture.

Various interactive and entertaining experiences programmed at the inflatable park from Nov. 2 through Dec. 8, including Brunches, Live Music, a PJs and Pancakes breakfast, a romantic movie screening under the stars, a yoga session and more.

On November 2, FriendsWithYou will lead a Rainbow City Parade, featuring a new inflatable character named “Gumball,” designed by Bossier Parish student Isaiah Roberts. The fourth grader’s drawing was selected from hundreds of submissions. The announcement was made at a ceremony on May 7, during which Joyce presented the young artist with a check for $500 for his design.

Also, Borkson and Sandoval will present a retrospective exhibition at Artspace gallery showcasing their projects accomplished over the years in cities around the world, opening Oct. 25.
