Seize & Secure: The Battle for La Fière with Q&A

Join us for a Q&A screening of SEIZE & SECURE: THE BATTLE FOR LA FIERE at RFC’s Regional Filmmakers Spotlight. This documentary sheds light on a relatively unexplored, but pivotal battle to secure a critical route inland for allied forces invading France on June 6, 1944. The fight for the La Fière causeway and bridge is regarded as one of the bloodiest small arms battles in U.S. military history.

“This isn’t just a great moment in the history of the US Army,” according to historian Rob Citino. “It’s a moment that should make all Americans proud. La Fière is a battle for the ages.” SEIZE & SECURE relies on the veterans who fought in the battle to retell the harrowing story.

The screening will feature a Q&A with Tessa Jagger and Seth Paridon of The National WWII Museum in New Orleans and Christina Melton, Deputy Director of Louisiana Public Broadcasting

Presented by Louisiana Entertainment, a division of Louisiana Economic Development, in partnership with The National WWII Museum and Louisiana Public Broadcasting
