Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber Annual Meeting 2018

The Shreveport Bossier African-American Chamber (SBAACC) has been a part of the Shreveport-Bossier community for over 70 y ears, working to enhance and enrich the city, community, and citizens. The vision of the original founders was to develop a “Chamber for Community Service.” We have worked hard to continue that mission by striving to provide service to the community in the areas of education, mentorship, and economic development.

The Annual Meeting & Reception will be held April 5, 2018, beginning at 6:30 pm at Sam’s Town Casino, Shreveport LA.

During this event, the SBAACC will recognize the businesses and sponsors who have partnered with the Chamber to accomplish a great number of milestones throughout the year. We will also present the Herschel Brown Civil Rights Award and the John Wilson Trail Blazer Award to tow individuals that have made a positive impact on the community. We will recap many of the successes that occurred in 2017 and unveil some new initiatives for 2018.

Our guest speaker for this y ear’s event is Richard “Rick” Gallot, President of Grambling State University.

We will also be recognizing educators in this area with our Red Apple Award and award scholarships to deserving students from Green Oaks, Huntington, Woodlawn, and Booker T. Washington high schools.

We hope that our commitment to help make the Shreveport Community a better place to live and work is evident. Your past support of our goals, programming, and initiatives has been greatly appreciated and we look forward to your continued support of this special event.
