The Agora Borealis is proud to host artist Lisandra Di Liberto Brown’s solo exhibition, “Queens”, at the Korner Lounge on August 7th.
Brown – known for her bold, fantastical pieces – often paints red cows with wings. They are a favorite subject for her because the town in which she grew up (Hatillo, Puerto Richo) is the hub of the country’s milk production.
“I was homesick, so I started drawing cows. I wanted to fly away home, so I gave my cows wings.”
In 2014, Brown was named one of eight Louisianians of the Year by Louisiana Life Magazine. She was also recently chosen as one of thirteen regional artists whose work was exhibited as part of the Latino Art Project in Little Rock, Arkansas.
