The Navy is hosting “Navy Week” in Shreveport at the end of the month to publicize and recruit for the branch. The full Navy Band will be in town and different ensembles within the Band will be playing around town. The Navy’s Rock Band will play a show in front of the Central ARTSTATION as the featured entertainment for a Shreveport Common Party on Thursday, November 1.
Established in 1995, Navy Band Southeast is one of 11 official U.S. Navy Bands proudly representing the Commander, Navy Region Southeast. The Rock Band will join neighbors and friends at a Shreveport Common Block Party at Common and Crockett Streets in downtown Shreveport Thursday to enjoy music, fun and food truck treats in this vibrant downtown setting. The celebration is a part of Shreveport/Bossier City Navy Week–one of only 14 Navy weeks happening across the country in 2018 as a part of a week-long series of engagements designed to bring America’s Navy closer to the people it protects. This incredibly popular unit performs more than 500 engagements annually throughout the Southeastern United States, inspiring pride and patriotism through music.
