It’s a cool yule at the Agora Borealis, 421 Lake St.

Got all your Christmas shopping done? No? We can help! There are multiple cool yule options downtown, so jump in your sleigh to purchase some holiday joy. The Agora Borealis Art Marketplace at 421 Lake is filled to the brim with flights of fancy, one-of-a-kind art, jewelry, clothing, furniture, even Good Granoly granola, local coffees and more.

Shreve Towne Studio 512 at 512 Crockett Street is happy to help you, and they have extended their holiday hours to make it even easier. More than 15 permanent vendors there sell everything from homemade pickles and  jewelry to tee shirts. STS is especially known for their Hummer Honey and Queen Bee Honey products…yes, you can eat AND wear products made from our friendly local bees. We like to say it’s all the buzz! Take a look at some of the items they have for sale in the Shreve Towne Studio 512 Commercial

Other gifting options abound at artspace-708 Texas, Norsworthy Gallery-214 Texas, On-Time Fashion- 619 Texas, and Lena’s Shoes at Milam and Marshall. Remember to treat yourself to a little Santa action while you’re stocking up for others!

Some folks talk badly about gift certificates, but we love them! They are great stocking stuffers  and are available at multiple downtown locations. Nicky’s in the Red River District is featuring (for a limited time), gift certificates at 20% off! You can also purchase gift certs at Rhino Downtown, Parish Taceaux, Robinson Film Center, Missing Link, Retro Down Town Cafe, The Agora Borealis, Shreve Towne Studio 512, the Remington Suite (for spa treatments and workouts) and artspace… and we are pretty sure that Norsworthy Gallery will create one for you, too!

Memberships are the the gifts that keep on giving! We love the thought of a single gift that people will enjoy for a full year.  Membership opportunities include many different levels of donor at Robinson Film Center, the Strand Theatre- tickets to one show or a season ticket, Sci-Port Discovery Center, the Shreveport Aquarium, the Shreveport Water Works Museum, the Downtown YMCA, the Shreveport Club and the Petroleum Club.

Performances come and go, but the memories linger! Downtown is host to a world of Broadway shows and music at the Strand Theatre. Their 2020 season kicks off with The Wedding Party and just gets bigger and better from there. The Municipal Auditorium features everything from professional wrestling to the music of Foreigner to Dancing with the Stars (yes, something for everyone)! Who wouldn’t love some tickets? Don’t forget that the newly-revamped RiverView Theater on the Clyde Fant Parkway is the performance home to the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, Shreveport Ballet and Shreveport Orchestra- ALL have 2020 events already scheduled.

No matter what you decide on, have a wonderful holiday season! We’ll see you back in 2020!
