The Bloomberg for President campaign has opened an office downtown at 605 Texas Street. Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (D.) is running for president in a crowded field of Democratic contenders. Bloomberg decided not to compete in the earlier primaries and caucuses in order to focus on the Super Tuesday delegate bounty states of:
- American Samoa
- Democrats Abroad
- North Carolina
The total number of Democratic delegates to be divvied up on this day is 1,357. Louisiana voters cast ballots on April 4 along with voters in Hawaii, Alaska and Wyoming. 1,990 pledged delegates are needed to win the Democratic nomination.
“We encourage all presidential candidates to open offices in downtown Shreveport,” says DDA executive director Liz Swaine. Downtown space is highly visible and is a wonderful location to share the message about your platform and goals for the country.”
