DOWNTOWN ARTWALK CELEBRATES 3RD BIRTHDAY AND 365 DAYS OF ART!
Wednesday, September 5 is Downtown Artwalk’s third birthday and that calls for a party! The celebration will feature nine different locations filled with performances, exhibits, art displays and artists, food and drink specials, Happy Hour flowers, poetry readings, street dancing, a history talk, your chance to sketch the city as well as tours of 611 Texas Street, a cool, historic space that is currently for lease.
You can start at 708 Texas Street at artspace and then walk to events at Lofts at 624Marlene Yu MuseumAt Home Academy Test Prep and TutoringSweet Tee ShreveportRobinson Film Center, Magee Resources, Crystal Stairs Restaurant, Southern University Museum of Art-Shreveport and other locations in the 600-700 blocks of Texas and the 700 block of Travis. Artwalk is free to attend and is appropriate for all ages! Here’s what’s happening at the various stops:
1. artspace shreveport – 708 Texas St
• Exhibits by Critical Mass 6 winners Josh Chambers (visual arts) & Katie Bickham (literary arts) and an exhibit of area collectors and their collectible art.
• Take home a free “Arts 365 Calendar“ produced by Shreveport Regional Arts Council & The Forum Magazine

Artwalk runs from 5-8 p.m., and is appropriate for all ages. After 5 p.m., on-street parking is free, as are the large First United Methodist Church surface parking lots.
