Barista Brian at SR Coffee Roasters bar at C&C Mercantile and Lighting.

C&C Mercantile and Lighting at 1110 Texas Avenue has added another reason to make you linger. Special Reserve Coffee Roasters is now in the house, serving up espresso drinks, cold brew coffees, estate teas and specialty drinks like Vietnamese Masala Chai. They plan to soon launch a ‘Nitro Bar’ that will feature SR’s coffee concentrates.

Donna and Brian Anderson are the duo behind SR, but it is Donna’s long-nurtured baby. You may remember seeing her smiling face on Saturdays at the Shreveport Farmers’ Market, selling cup after cup of their delicious iced coffee with ‘Barista Brian’ at her side.

Donna with SR Coffee Roasters’ many options.

Donna sources her beans from South America and roasts and grinds them locally. Her coffees and other products have been picked up and sold at several area locations, but the opportunity at C&C is special and gives them a permanent location in which to experiment with products and speak directly to customers. They will be launching three new blends at C & C, and other items such as her coffee concentrates (in 4 and 12 oz. sizes), cacao Lok Bark bars, Aeropress, Clever Brewer and French Press brewers, and pastries from local artisans The Twisted Brownie and Shreveport Cottage Homestead.

Initially, they will be serving in person on Saturdays from 10 am- 2 pm, but those days/times will likely expand as we move into spring. SR’s ground and bean coffee and other products are available anytime the shop is open. In the next few weeks, C & C will be installing a walk-up window so that patrons will be able to linger in outside seating and order beverages and pastries without having to make the trek inside. That set up will also be perfect for call in orders on the run. We welcome Donna and Brian downtown and encourage you to go by and say hello!
