Art the Dalmation took his place at the Central ARTSTATION in 2014. Art is the sculptural brain child of the Academy Award Winning duo William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, who presented the design as a “commemorative housewarming” gift to the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, the Artists who inhabit the building and populate Shreveport Common, and the Audiences who will gather to experience the arts”. Art guards the renovated and repurposed fire station from his post on Crockett Street, outside of the Engine Room doors of Central ARTSTATION
