We’re proud to present the upcoming exhibition of painter Peter Jones at our Lake Street Gallery in downtown Shreveport, on view from March 17 to May 10, 2025.

Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, April 3rd, from 5–7 PM, with an artist talk at 6 PM.

Peter is a celebrated realist painter whose work balances classical technique with modern ideas. Born into an artist family in Woodstock, NY, and influenced by 20th-century abstraction, Peter found freedom in painting directly from life—whether it’s the quiet beauty of still lifes or the expressive energy of landscapes. His intimate, small-scale oil paintings draw the viewer in, inviting close attention and quiet reflection.

Now based in Ruston, Louisiana, Peter taught for over three decades at Louisiana Tech and has exhibited nationally at institutions like Amherst College, A.M. Adler Fine Arts in NYC, and more recently at ULM and the Masur Museum.
