The first couple of weeks of the DDA’s Lunch on Us, DDA staff had tickets left over and tried several times to stop people on the street and give them a $10 lunch coupon- to no avail.

By the final weeks of Lunch on Us, all 100 of the weekly tickets were gone in just minutes, given out to folks at the City of Shreveport, Parish of Caddo, SWEPCO, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Tax Assessor’s Office, local building staff and more. We love it when a good idea takes off!
It was a hit all around. Not only did downtown (and other) employees get to save a little money each week, it encouraged people to experiment with different restaurants and most of the people we talked with, did! It pushed more business to restaurants and gave the restaurants the opportunity to create new long-term customers. It also filled sidewalks with happy, hungry people.
What time is it? Lunch time!

The DDA is making it easy for employees to dine downtown every Tuesday and Wednesday through December 20. The first month was a hoot!
HOW LUNCH ON US WORKS
Get Your Coupon. Head to one of the two pick-up locations below to get your Have Lunch on Us coupon on a Tuesday or Wednesday between 11 am – 1 pm (one per person per week). Claim your coupon by providing your name, employer, email and zip code on-site.
Eat Your Meal. Take your coupon to a participating Downtown restaurant the Tuesday or Wednesday of the week you get the coupon and receive $10 off your dine-in or carryout order. Remember, coupons are only valid on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 am – 2 pm of the week they are issued. You must dine in or carry out. See additional Fine Print below.
Repeat Next Week. Stop by every week to eat your way through Downtown’s great eateries! You can use one coupon per week for as long as the event runs.

THE FINE PRINT
- We’ll only be distributing 100 coupons per week and we expect them to get snatched up quickly! Once they’re gone, they’re gone, so come early.
- There’s no such thing as a free lunch. This is a great introduction to delicious Downtown dishes, but you must pay for the remainder of your meal, and please tip your waitstaff based on the pre-voucher value of your meal. We want to show love to our small businesses!
- Coupons are only valid at participating Downtown locations listed on our website and could change. Check back often for the list of participating eateries.
- Have Lunch on Us coupons can’t be used on orders including liquor, so you’ll have to imbibe on your own dime.
- You must be at least 18 years old to claim a Have Lunch on Us voucher.
- Coupons must be picked up and redeemed in person for dine-in or carryout orders. They can’t be applied to online orders.
- All distribution locations will be reserving a portion of their weekly coupons for Wednesday, so some quantity will be available each day.
