The City of Shreveport ordinance states a parking violations occurs when part or all of a vehicle extends beyond the designated parking stall boundary lines. However, ShrevePark Parking offers some flexibility and will only issue a ticket if the vehicle’s tires are on or over the lines, front or back. Patrollers do not issue citations when only the front or rear bumper crosses the boundary. Most parking spaces in Downtown Shreveport range from 22 to 23 feet in length, exceeding the city ordinance minimum requirement of 20 feet per space.

Staying within your allotted parking space is essential to ensure that all downtown visitors have access to parking. When a vehicle partially occupies another space, it can prevent others from being able to fit into either spot, reducing available parking for everyone.

For reference, here is the ordinance: Ord. No. 117, 2015, (1-12-16), Sec. 90-110 – Method of parking in metered spaces:

“At each parking space marked off in accord with this division, it shall be unlawful to park any vehicle in such a way that it shall not be entirely within the limits of the space so designated.”

Below are examples of violation examples.
