What’s brown, silver and plaid all over?  It’s the new temporary pop up holiday bar at the favorite local hang out Fatty Arbuckle’s in the Red River District.  A holiday ski lodge look will be the temporary transition from Thursday, November 28 (yes, Thanksgiving Day night) thru Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Chase Boytim, the  owner of Fatty’s who is also a well-known cocktail curator and rare liquor collector, wanted to do something fun for the holidays with an overall ambience that included the décor as well as specialty drinks to match the themes. These specialty drinks will oftentimes be served in retro-looking glassware. The idea of The Shreveport Ski Lodge came about because of the natural look of the existing bar. “The dark hue of the interior of Fatty’s already lends itself to a classic ski lodge look that you might find in northern parts of the United States, so we thought it would be fun to create this kind of atmosphere here for the holidays,” Chase states.  Silver tinsel, plaid wallpaper, lights, antlers on the walls, ski poles, holiday music and even some enlarged classic historic downtown Shreveport snow photos supplied thru Twin Blends Photography that will help transform this one-of-a-kind holiday pop up bar into a winter snow lodge setting.  This type of temporary holiday bar is very popular in larger cities and Mr. Boytim is hoping that both locals and tourists will enjoy the setting and theme of The Shreveport Ski Lodge
