Creative Minds Studio: Inspiring the Next Generation of Young Artists
Downtown Shreveport has a new place for our young “Creative Minds”! Artspace Shreveport is launching an exciting new youth initiative this fall, Creative Minds Studio: The Studio for Young Creatives.
Designed for kids ages 7–12, this program is more than just an art class, it’s a chance for young artists to explore their creativity, experiment with different mediums, and learn directly from Shreveport’s talented local artists.
Hands-On Learning with Local Artists
Every two weeks, a new local artist steps in to guide the class, sharing their expertise and unique style. From painting and drawing to sculpture and fabric, kids will dive into a wide variety of art forms while gaining confidence in their creative voices.
By the end of each four-week session, students will have not only learned foundational art skills but also created original works of art they can proudly take home and share.
Program Details
When: Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: Artspace Shreveport
Class Size: 12 students max
Cost: $25 per class or $100 for the full 4-week session
Format: Two artists per session, each teaching a two-week block

Sept 20 & Sept 27 – Create a Comic Book Cover & Drawing with Oil Pastels with Jerry Davenport
Oct 4 & Oct 11 – Fabric Painting & Creating with Air Dry Clay with Erica Branch
