Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 24 from 4-9 pm for the return of the ASEANA Foundation Asian Spring Festival, a beautiful afternoon of native costume, live music, dancing and the most amazing array of Asian Street Food in the region! The festival is held in the beautiful Asian Gardens at 800 Texas Avenue, the corner of Milam and Texas Avenue, and is all-ages friendly.

4:00 – 6:00 pm: Music by: Katrice Lacour Trio
5:00 pm: Welcome Remarks and Greeting
6:00 – 6:30 pm: Glen Guerin and the Lee’s Kung Fu and Tai Chi: Lion Dance, Kung Fu, Tai Chi. Weapons: Saber and Swords. Dragon Dance
6:30- 7:00 pm: Ana Diane “Spanish Rumba Flamenca” dance, Sharon Nixon: Gems of Cairo– performances showcase the dances of Egypt, Spain, Lebanon, Eastern Europe and beyond.”
“East” pieces:
Akdeb Alaik – silk veil and zils
Yama Alou – debke fusion
“West” pieces:
Jambalaya – skirt dance. This is a troupe favorite, and it’s pure “Louisiana”. It’s belly dance with a Cajun flair, with a little square dancing thrown in.
Corazon Espinado – Spanish fusion skirt dance to music by Carlos Santana and Mana
El Muerto Vivo- Spanish fusion fan and skirt dance

ASEANA Foundation Board member and Graphics Designer Isabelle De Joya Vea has done Henna skin tattoo in previous events and donated all proceeds to the ASEANA Foundation, a non profit 501 c foundation. She will again be at the ASEANA Booth by the Twin Pagodas doing temporary Henna Skin Tattoos.
Visitors are encouraged to try authentic Asian cuisine from Japan, China, the Philippines, Mexico, India, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, and others. Some of the dishes available will be: pancit noodles, lumpia spring roll, adobo chicken and pork, Arroz Caldo, Korean Barbeque, ban mi, suman, puto, and much more.
