SHREVEPORT, La. – The Shreveport Downtown Development Authority (DDA) celebrates the State of Louisiana’s finalized investment agreement with G-Unit Film & Television, a transformative entertainment redevelopment project that marks a major step forward in downtown Shreveport’s economic revitalization and growth as a destination for creative industries.

The multi-phase initiative represents more than $124 million in combined public and private investment and includes the redevelopment of key downtown properties, including the former Millennium Studios campus and Stageworks facility, along with plans for new immersive entertainment and green space venues. The project is expected to strengthen downtown’s role as a regional hub for film, television, live events, and digital media production.

According to Louisiana Economic Development (LED), an independent economic impact study estimates the project will generate $18.8 billion in statewide economic impact, support more than 6,000 jobs, and create approximately $300 million in wages over the next 20 years.

“This investment is a defining moment for downtown Shreveport,” said Cedric B. Glover, Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority. “The State’s commitment, combined with G-Unit’s private investment, sends a powerful message that downtown Shreveport is open for business and positioned for national-scale growth. These projects activate long underutilized assets, attract new talent and visitors, and help build a stronger downtown economy for decades to come.”

The Downtown Development Authority works to encourage investment, support redevelopment, and foster long-term economic growth throughout downtown Shreveport. The G-Unit Film & Television project reflects the type of catalytic investment the DDA seeks to attract. These projects create jobs, drive tourism, and strengthen confidence in the downtown core. As momentum continues to build, the DDA invites businesses of all sizes to explore the opportunities downtown Shreveport has to offer and be part of what’s next.

As Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson says, All Roads Lead to Shreveport—and the DDA is proudly focused on where many of those roads meet: Downtown Shreveport.
