Time is running out for you to make plans to stay out of the proverbial dog house this Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Luckily, we have some fun, tasty and romantic options for you at multiple venues downtown.
Option #1. They say the eyes are the windows of our soul and we believe the mouth leads straight to the heart. Abby Singer’s Bistro, The Missing Link, Retro Downtown Cafe, and Noble Savage Tavern are all planning great Valentine’s Day meals (SALT at the Shreveport Aquarium and the Logan Mansion’s dinners are sold out). Abby Singer’s 3-course meal is $80 per couple, The Missing Link is offering 3-courses (ordered from their menu) for $25 per person, Noble Savage Tavern is doing a fancy 4-course meal for $65 per person, and Retro Downtown Cafe is hosting 4 courses with a murder mystery thrown in for good measure for $40 per person.

Option #2. Eating is fun, but we’ve got lots of other Valentine’s options, too. Go on a Date Night at Robinson Film Center and enjoy romance the old fashioned way with Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable in It Happened One Night. The movie plus dinner runs $29 per person, $22 for RFC members.
Option #3. Create something cool at Sanctuary Arts School at Red River Brewing Company on Valentine’s night! The talented glassblowers will help you make your very own Heart Paperweights $40, Round Paperweights $50, Wine Glass $60 or Beer Mug $70 . If painting is more your thing, Artipsy is offering a Couples Paint and Party. $60 is good for two; all art supplies are provided. Each ticket will also come with a box of chocolates and champagne.

Option #4. But wait, there’s more! There is a role-acting murder mystery dinner at Retro Downtown Cafe (some tickets may still be available), an all-ages Valentines party at the Holiday Inn Downtown, a Valentine Drag Show at the Korner Lounge, and a new beer release and live music by Josh Love (what a perfect name) at Red River Brewing Co.
Option #5. One additional option for you and your sweetie is the Foreigner concert at the Municipal Auditorium. Tickets run the gamut from about $30 to $120+. The great thing is that the Muni is a small venue, so every seat is a good one. At least two of Foreigner’s hits, I Want to Know What Love Is and Waiting For a Girl Like You are perfect Valentine ballads.
Whatever you decide to do, we hope you have a great time!
