The 34th annual African-American History Month Parade hits the streets of downtown Shreveport Saturday, Feb. 5, and you’re invited to come and enjoy. The parade’s official start time is 11 am, but the main streets- Part of Common and Market and most of Milam and Texas Street will all close at 8 am to give the parade units the opportunity to stage. The parade starts at Milam and Common, winds east on Milam, north on Market and west on Texas Street. There will be stops at the reviewing stand at the Caddo Parish Courthouse. It may be 3 pm before the parade is over, the route cleaned and the streets reopened. If you are wanting to go to the parade or to one of our downtown businesses, the map below gives detour options. Enjoy the parade!
