The monthly Sunday in Caddo Common Park, 800 Texas Avenue, has returned (along with more reasonable weather)! The Shreveport Regional Arts Council and Caddo Parish Parks and Rec invite you to come out for an afternoon of free family fun on Sunday, Sept. 19, noon- 4:30 pm.
The day will include live music by the afternoon by Shreveport Regional Jazz Ensemble and Joanie Nerrettig, and live poetry by Poetic X and friends. Artists Erica Branch and Linda Moss will be outside creating original works and you’re invited to bring your easels and paint with them.
Bring the kiddos for FREE hands on art activities all day with Larry ‘Taz’ Sanchez. Caddo Parks and Recreation and Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park will present “Reptile Round Up” featuring snakes, alligators, and turtles. Shreveport Green’s Mobile Market will be there to teach about Food Deserts and will be teaching kids how to plant seeds to start their own gardens.
There will be an opportunity to exercise, too. During the afternoon yoga, aerobics & calisthenics and line dancing instruction will be free to the public.
12:30 pm – 1:15 pm: Yoga with Humm Yoga Studio
1:45 pm – 2:30 pm : Aerobics & Calisthenics with instructor: Darcell “Swoll” Francois with YOKAFELA/Plex.
2:45 pm – 3:30 pm: Line Dancing Class with instructor: Aaron Brown “The Man with the Big Hat” of the SB STEPPERS
Food, too! Onos Hawaiian Grill and Kate’s Cones will be serving up goodies all day.
