The Shreveport Water Works Museum located on the banks of Cross Bayou is Shreveport’s original waterworks. Built in 1887 as part of the construction of Shreveport’s first municipal water system, exceedingly rare examples of bygone technology still call the McNeill Street Pumping Station home & most are operational. There are several areas appropriate for rentals. The grounds of the lovely turn-of-the-last-century building are outfitted with picnic tables, a deck overlooking historic Cross Bayou and 100-year-old live oaks. This would make a beautiful setting for a wedding, family reunions or birthdays. The Ozone Room is an air-conditioned, 1500-sf carpeted building good for board retreats, parties and other meetings. Depending on room configuration, this space could accommodate 80-140 persons. Tables, chairs, a large-screen TV and digital projection equipment are available for rental.
