The board of directors and staff of the Downtown Development Authority and Downtown Shreveport Development Corporation are sadden to learn of the passing of two downtown Shreveport pioneers …. John D. Caruthers, Jr. and Leon Dayries, Jr. Both Caruthers and Dayries have invested significantly in properties in downtown and have championed redevelopment of the central business district for decades. Their leadership and vision for downtown Shreveport contributed greatly to past successes and future plans. They will certainly be missed.
