SALT, the pretty little restaurant at the Shreveport Aquarium that has tried so hard to find its groove, may have now done just that. After a couple of re-considerations of menu options, the cafe has now settled on something that we think everyone can agree on- fast service for good food at a good price. They have rolled out a menu that guarantees 15 minute food or it’s free…and the choices appear to run the gamut from tasty to tastier.
Their $9 Express Lunch features such options as a Ban Mi Pork Burger, a Cuban Panini and SALT Classic Burger with cheese and fries. The cafe is open to the general public (you do NOT have to pay to go into the aquarium to get to the cafe, simply walk around to the north side of the building nearest Eldorado Casino) and go in the door at the ‘SALT’ sign. The cafe is open Wednesday-Friday from noon until 5 pm, Saturdays from 9 am- 6 pm and Sundays from noon-6 pm. Once the weather gets a little warmer, you will definitely want to go and sit outside. They have-without a doubt- the best outdoor space in all of Shreveport-Bossier. It is GORGEOUS, overlooking the aquarium gardens, the riverfront and the Red River itself.
But I digress from the real purpose of the blog, which is the food. Go and eat, even if you’ve been before. This is a cool spot, and if the food and service is good, we need to share that fact. See you soon at SALT!
