The Petroleum Club of Shreveport traces its origins to a 1948 meeting of oil industry employees.  The group, mostly draftsmen, geologists, and engineers, believed working people in the oil industry needed a place downtown where they could enjoy lunch together.  The Petroleum Club was formed. The Club’s first five years were spent in the Washington Youree Hotel.  Later, the Club moved to the Petroleum Tower but eventually returned to the hotel.  As the Club continued to grow, it became more and more difficult to accommodate the member services and activities.  In late 1969, the Petroleum Club moved into the brand new Mid-South Tower. Occupying the top two floors, the Club still calls the Mid-South Tower at 416 Travis Street home.

There are multiple reasons to consider joining in 2022: 1. The food and ambiance is wonderful; a perfect location to have lunch, drinks or dinner with business clients, staff, friends or family. 2. The view is the best in NW Louisiana. 3. The space is perfect for business meetings, birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries and other events. 4. Membership in the Petroleum Club of Shreveport means you have privileges in clubs around the country such as the City Club in Baton Rouge, the Capitol Hill Club in the District of Columbia, and others. You can apply for membership on line or by calling the club at (318)425-4251; ask for Shelley Crain. See you at the Petroleum Club!
