It’s another jam packed Holiday weekend in your Cool Downtown!
It’s Festivus For The Rest Of Us! Celebrate Festivus 2024 tonight at On A Rampage. For the uninitiated, Festivus is a secular holiday made famous by the TV show Seinfeld. Festivus is celebrated on December 23 and features the airing of the grievances, the feats of strength, an aluminum Festivus pole and a special Festivus dinner.
What: Festivus 2024 Celebration
When: Friday, December 20, 7:00 – 11:00 pm.

The Second Annual Merry Tuba Christmas take place on the steps of the Municipal Auditorium on Saturday and promises to be a wonder holiday event for the whole family! The Shreveport Regional Arts Council sponsors the event, which begins at 11:15 am with a performance by The Holiday Horns. Noon to 1:00 pm features the Merry Tuba Christmas band with a large collection of low brass instruments playing your favorite holiday tunes. Free to the public. Also featuring food trucks and an art market. Bring a cozy blanket!

After Merry Tuba Christmas, head over to The Sixth Annual Shreveport Family Christmas Parade & Festival & Cajun Christmas Second Line. The event kicks off at 2:00 pm with the Cajun Christmas Second Line along Commerce St. Cajun Christmas Second Line: families, groups, and organizations are invited to don their ugly Christmas sweaters, grab a decorated umbrella, and hit the streets to celebrate. From 3:00 – 6:00 pm, visit the festival in the Red River District, The festival features food trucks, ornament decorating, live local music, gingerbread house decorating, a gumbo cook-off and more.
When: 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
Where: Commerce Street and the Red River District, 450 Clyde Fant Parkway.

During the Shreveport Family Christmas Parade, be sure to stop into The Shreveport Ski Lodge at Fatty Arbuckles Pub for Christmas après-ski celebration and specialty drinks.

Artipsy, also in the Red River District is featuring the Canvas & Cocktails paint party. No experience necessary, bring your creative side and get ready to dance, sip, & paint.
